Payments & Billing
Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Overview
GateConet provides tools for estates to create charges, collect payments, track balances, and issue receipts. The estate operator remains responsible for approving charges, communicating billing rules, and reconciling its own accounts.
2. Charges and balances
Administrators may create recurring service charges, one-time levies, or other estate balances. Residents should review the charge name, billing period, amount, and due date before making a payment and contact the estate for corrections.
3. Checkout and payment
Payment is completed through the payment gateway enabled for the estate. The application currently demonstrates Paystack checkout integration for online card payments. Available card, bank-transfer, or USSD channels depend on the configured provider and production account.
4. Receipts and records
After a successful payment confirmation, the resident may see the payment in history and access a receipt. Estate administrators may use payment records, resident statements, and reports for reconciliation. A receipt confirms the recorded transaction but does not replace the estate’s accounting records.
5. Fees and taxes
Gateway fees, platform fees, taxes, and who pays them depend on the estate’s commercial and billing arrangement. The estate operator must communicate any fee included in an invoice or deducted from a payment before residents complete checkout.
6. Refunds and reversals
Refunds, reversals, duplicate payments, and failed transactions are subject to the payment provider’s process and the estate’s refund policy. Keep the payment reference and receipt when requesting a review.
7. Disputes and support
Contact the estate administrator first for questions about the charge, amount, due date, or allocation. Contact GateConet for platform or checkout errors that the estate team cannot resolve. Do not send full card numbers or security codes through support messages.
